WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS NOW IS A LITTLE … “SOUL, PEACE & LOVE”

…What the world needs now is the new CD by raspy-voiced singer/ pianist, LIZ McCOMB, who has spent the last twenty years dazzling European audiences with her American-honed blues, gospel and jazz repertoire that jolts the heart and soothes the soul. Featuring cameos by CLARENCE FOUNTAIN & THE BLIND BOYS and other friends, the project boasts a dozen heart-rending, full throttle inspirational songs about love (Come Back Lover), loss (The Rich Man) and faith (By the Rivers of Babylon).
McComb moves from smoothness to Pentecostal abandon.
Ben Ratliff, The New York Times

Liz McComb
Liz McComb is an international sensation. Though American, she received international praise and recognition outside the States. Well known in France and throughout Europe, McComb returned to play in the U.S. just a few short years ago. Her rich, classically-trained, blues-soaked alto voice immediately struck a chord with gospel, Broadway and jazz audiences. Reviewing her earlier collection Fire, Billboard magazine said “McComb’s masterful mix of R&B, jazz, and fervent gospel is stirring and surefooted enough to stand in the company of Aretha Franklin's 1972 classic, 'Amazing Grace', yet unique and singularly inspired.”
Liz McComb is a must see!

"Liz McComb has an undeniable vocale presence and a soul-stirring manner that can’t be put into words.”
Sylvain Siclier, Le Monde Paris/France

"A happy emotion flows from McComb’s piano the keys like the production, subtle, sparse and always played with gusto.”
The Paris Voice

NEW ORLEANS JAZZ & HERITAGE FESTIVAL 2002 …she is one of the greatest live performers on EARTH !

…. I was looking for a gospel singer to sing live in my new choreography for the Lyon Opera Ballet, ‘I want to cross over’. Upon entering the theatre, I thought that if Liz could transform such a chic and secular auditorium and audience into a church, it would prove her to be great. ….. By the time the performance ended, the entire Théâtre des Champs-Elysées was on its feet …

MS. MCCOMB’S EMOTIONAL RECITAL OF GOSPEL AND SOUL TUNES HIGHLIGHTED FOR TUNISIAN AUDIENCES FUNDAMENTAL AMERICAN VALUES THAT ARE NOT ALWAYS VISIBLE THROUGH THE GLARE OF POP CULTURE - COMMUNITY, TOLERANCE, AND HOPE FOR THE FUTURE….

Fabulous. Simply fab-u-lous ... Man, this sister takes Jazz melodies and gruff Blues vocals and totally wrapping them around her finger; making a reflective Gospel album that is unlike anything else in recent memory……
….. this disc is an extraordinary variety of sounds that a mere review can't do it justice. Just go out and buy it.

… Let me put it as simply as possible : Liz McComb is a gigantic talent, widely recognized in Europe and soon to make her mark on her homeland….
…This is an album that bears repeated listening, and we anticipate with great relish the release of her next recording project. If you enjoy music with a whole lot of soul and old time feeling, do yourself a favor and give this CD a spin.

John Sinclair / BLUES ACCESS / JANUARY 2002

…..This album is a simple joy in its musical purity. No hype, no over-instrumentation, no slick production, just McComb’s smoky vocals and her snazzy tickling of the ivories.
…..This lady is tops at singing the gospel blues, and “What Happened to the Love” is simply outstanding. – CHRISTIAN RETAILING

…Every nuance, every syllable, every turn of phrase flickers with intense color, with McComb easily moving from warmth to cool as piano, organ, rhythms and backing vocals move in solidarity underneath…
…But it truly doesn’t stop there, the entire project is a gem. ….This is a vocal triumph of all that continues to be best about Gospel music. GOSPELflava.com
